Kaeng Hin Poeng Rafting Festival

Period : June - October
Location : Kaeng Hin Poeng, Prachinburi Province
Kaeng Hin Poeng Rafting Festival will be held in June to October annually when level of water is high and clear for rafting. Tourists enjoy excited rafting experience with 8-10 seated rubber boat passing through small islets such as Kaeng Hin Poeng, Kaeng Wang Namlom, Kaeng Wang Bon, Kaeng Look Seau, Kaeng Wang Sai, and Kaeng Ngoo Ha.


Rafting on Pai River

Period : July – December
Location : Mae Hong Son Province
Start your adventure in Mae Hong Son Province with rafting activity at Pai River and several watercourses. Along the river, tourists will enjoy beautiful natural scenery and rafting on the class 3-5 river difficulty along 50 Kilometers rafting distance. More excited activities are offered to tourists during rafting such as waterfall, cave adventure, cliff jumping, and soak in a mud pond.

The Wax-castle Festival

Period : October
Location : Sakon Nakorn Province
The festival is held in October after the end of the Buddhist Lent Day. At night, the locals from communities in Sakon Nakhon Province help together decorating their wax castles with colorful lamps, and the wax-castles are brought to Ming Meung Park in downtown for competition. In the morning, beautiful decorated wax-casltes then are prepared for parade along the streets of the municipality area to Phra That Choeng Choom Temple.

Chiang Mai Food Festival

Period : October
Location : Central Plaza Chiang Mai Airport, Chiang Mai Province
Chiang Mai Food Festival is organized by the Association of Restaurants in Chiang Mai Province. Tourists enjoy more than 50 restaurants with a variety of foods. In the festival, there are cultural performance, cooking demonstration, fruits and vegetable carving, local souvenir shops, and free concert from popular artists awaiting for the tourists.



Hat Yai Vegetarian Festival

Period : Late October
Location : Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province
Hat Yai Vegetarian Festival is the annual festival of Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The festival originates from the Chinese-Thais who have stayed in southern Thailand. Those who participate in the festival must eat non-meat foods, and foods with strong-smell spicy are not allowed. Meaning of vegetarianism is not only not to eat meat, but also refer ones who are in a good practice with purity of mind and body.

Long Sapao Jao Lagon Festival

Period : Early November
Location : Lampang Province
Long Sapao Jao Lagon Festival held in early November annually. It is also known as the North Yi Peng Month. Name of the festival - Sapao means the flowing boat, while Jao Lagon means Lampang people. “Sapao” will be decorated and flow along Wang River in order to dedicate good things to the souls of the deceased ancestors and for good fortune in the next lifetime. In addition, the festival presents the fire kites, fireworks, light and sound performance, the flowing boat contest, etc.

Yi Peng Festival (Loi Krathong Festival)

Period : Early November
Location : Chiang Mai Province
Yi Peng Festival (Loi Krathong Festival) is a major event of Chiang Mai Province which held on the 15th of the lunar month. A word “Yi” means two and “Peng” means full moon. Yi Peng tradition is a great tradition of Lanna region which represents identity of Lanna people. People attending the festival will be exciting with a nighttime sky which is covered by hundreds of lanterns floating over the sky.

Banana-stem Floating Festival

Period : Early November
Location : The King Rama 2 Park, Samut Songkhram Province
It is an old tradition of Samut Songkhram Province that has revived in the past decade in order to reserve for later generations to see the beauty of Thai tradition. The floating pan is made from banana stem cutting into a long piece. Then put incense stick in the banana pan and decorate with flowers. Hundreds of banana pan is released in line along the Mae Klong River to the Gulf of Thailand, and tourists can enjoy beautiful scenery of the Mae Klong River with the banana pans.

The Long Tailed-boat Race

Period : Early November
Location : Buriram Province
The race is held at Mun River, Sateuk District, Buriram Province. Before the race started, there is a water parade and elephant parade presented to tourists. There are several types of race including the small long tailed- boat, the middle long tailed- boat, and the large long tailed- boat. In addition, there is also a metal boat race and cheering contest.


The Surin Incredible Elephant Festival

Period : November
Location : Surin Province
Welcome to the biggest elephant performance event of Thailand. The event is held at Surin Province. Tourists will see more than 300 of elephants, and many activities performed by elephants such as the parade of elephant food truck, the elephant dinner, etc.


The Monkey Food Buffet

Period : Late November
Location : Lopburi Province
A hundred menu of foods are serving to monkeys with buffet style. In the event, cultural performance from local students in Lopburi Province is available to tourists. Tourists will have chance to visit nearby attractions such as the King Narai Royal Palace, Wat Phra Sri Ratana Mahathat, and sunflower plantation.


Worshipping the Pagoda of Doi Kong Moo

Period : November
Location : Mae Hong Son Province
Worshipping the pagoda of Doi Kong Moo is a tradition held annually during Loi Krathong Festival. Activities of the event consist of floating the lantern up to the sky. This is the belief of Tai ethnic people who believe that floating the lantern would bring some good things to ones, worshiping Doi Kong Moo Pagoda for prosperity to life, fireworks contest, and Tai performances.

Worshipping the great pagoda of Nakorn Pathom

Period : November
Location : Nakorn Pathom Province
It is a good time to visit the great pagoda of Nakorn Pathom. Tourists have a chance to pay respect to the Buddha statue at four directions of the temple (Phra Rueng Rojanarit, the great sleeping Buddha, and the 1,000 years Buddha which made from white stone in Dvaravati period). In addition, local products, such as local foods and fruits, are available to visitors.


The Cotton Spinning Festival at Phra That Pha Ngao Temple

Location : Chiang Rai Province
The Cotton Spinning Festival has a long history, and it is set up in order to reserve local intelligence and disseminate local traditions. Activities in the event consist of cotton spinning, making merit, and various festivities. All the activities will be completed within 1 day since the sunset until the sunrise of the new day.


The Legendary Thousand Year of Sikhoraphum Castle

Location : Sikhoraphum Castle, Surin Province
The legendary thousand year of Sikhoraphum Castle will be held during the same time as the Surin Incredible Elephant. The event is set up to promote the tourism of Surin Province and conservation of local culture in Surin Province. Highlight of the event is the light and sound performance, parade of local tradition and culture, exhibition regarding ways of life of ethnic group in Surin Province, such as Khmare, Lao, Chinese, and Gooy ethnic group.

King Narai Ratchaniveth Royal Palace

Period : November
Location : Narai Ratchaniveth Royal Palace, Lopburi Province
Visiting a warmth-event at King Narai Ratchaniveth Royal Palace. Highlights of the event is the royal place where was the residence of King Narai the Great. Visitors will enjoy nostalgic atmosphere, such as the old market, and will be impressed with the famous band “Soontaraporn” and OTOP exhibition.

The River Kwai Bridge and Annual Cross Red Festival

Period : Late November – Early December
Location : The river Kwai Bridge, Kanchanaburi Province
The festival presents exhibition of the King Rama 9, light and sound performance on the World War II, and various festivities



The Flora Park Festival

Period : November – February
Location : Wang Nam Kiew District, Nakorn Ratchasima Province
Flower and arts festival takes place on the fresh area of Wang Nam Kiew District. The festival presents more than 2,000 of roses, Farmer Market, the organic vegetable project, coffee plantation of Fah Pratan Learning Center, vertical garden, and the flower maze.


The Lopburi Sun Flower Plantation Festival

Period : November – February
Location : Lopburi Province
Visitors are enjoying sunflower plantation, and taking a shot with sunflower closely. Shuttle bus for sightseeing is available for visitors, or visitors maybe ride a bike to see sunflower plantation with a good atmosphere.



Festival of Tea, Sakura Tree, and Ethnic Foods at Mae Salong Mountain

Period : December – January
Location : Santi Kiri Village, Mae Fah Luang District, Chiang Rai Province
Visitors are welcome to test Mae Salong tea, and enjoy Sakura flowers, ethnic performances, and OTOP products.



The Traditional Long Tailed-boat Race at Chaopraya River

Period : December
Location : King Rama 8 Park, Bangkok
Enjoying simple lifestyle along Chao Praya River, and enjoying a worldwide boat race. Sixteen teams from 10 countries, including England, South Korea, Iran, China, Macao, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand, participate in the traditional long tailed-boat race at Bangkok. The race consists of two platform including 1) 55 seats long tailed-boat, and 2) 30 seats long tailed-boat

The Memorial of King Taksin The Great

Location : Tak Province
The worshipping ceremony of King Taksin the Great, light and sound performance to honor King Taksin the Great, exhibitions from government agencies, and the fair of the Red Cross of Tak Province.



Festival of Mackerel and Mae Klong Foods

Period : December
Location : Samut Songkram Province
During October to December is a perfect time for mackerel fishes immigrating to the Gulf of Thailand. Prosperity of the Thai Gulf makes the mackerel fully grown, and its taste is delicious. Samut Sakorn Province has organized this event, and presented over 50 of mackerel-made food menus. It is interesting to taste the difference between mackerel in Samut Songkram and mackerel from other places.


The Chiang Mai New Year Countdown Festival

Location : Tha Pae Gate, Chiang Mai Province
The Chiang Mai New Year Countdown Festival is an annual festival which is held at Tha Pae Gate. The event presents performances on temporary music, local culture, fireworks. Visitors have a chance to countdown for New Year together.
